We set to work to remove all debris and rubbish, this included removal of a small unwanted and tired wall. We also pulled down an old timber walk through pergola.
We then started to level the ground of the whole garden. We used a rotavator/Tiller to break the soil up and also the lads used hand tools like Breakers, Pickaxes and shovels as sometimes the old ways are the best.
The brick wall as mentioned was removed and replaced with 2.4 meter Green Sleepers to provide wall’s and step’s. The sleepers also divided the garden into 2 areas. This in turn gave the customers 2 different uses as one area we turfed and the other area we used 10mm Pea Shingle.
We also used membrane to control weeds as originally the garden was overrun in areas with weeds. We then used 3 ton of Pea shingle to cover the desired areas.
Turf was laid and rolled out in lines to have a fantastic finish. It is important to note that once turf is laid you must not walk on this for at least 3 weeks and also no mowing. When the turf has bonded with the soil then you can do the first mowing cut, but this must be on the highest cut setting so it does not damage your new lawn.
